Don’t Reinvent the Wheel – Just Pump It Up!

It’s easy to create technology rich lessons in Ednexio.  There’s no need to reinvent the wheel – but you may need to “pump it up.” Simply take a lesson you love that may have little or no technology integrated into it and add websites and multimedia to more fully engage your students.  Keep the end in mind when integrating technology, though.  It should be purposeful and not just an afterthought.

How do you get started? There are plenty of sites where you can find online lesson plans, but many of them tend to be “flat,” paper-pencil type lessons in pdf format that come with printable worksheets.  Not too engaging, but that’s a great starting point for a more interactive lesson. Pump up a flat lesson by having your students navigate to websites that present lesson concepts in interesting ways. Include interactive games and videos to engage your students.  Check for understanding with a variety of questions. Add a culminating project where students use a tech tool to create a product to show they’ve mastered and can apply their learning.  Try to incorporate interactive resources that appeal to different learning modalities so your students learn how they learn best.

Need some inspiration?  Ednexio is here to help.  We’ve done some of the work for you, sifting through the best (and really awful!) resources online. Here’s a list of Ednexio recommended web resources to save you time and to inspire you to integrate technology into your lessons.

If you come across any other resources that you would recommend, please post a comment so we can add them to our list.
